Starting at the Doune Information and Heritage Centre start eastwards along the A820, but turn right onto the B824 road for Bridge of Allan (SAS Monument on Hill of Row).
Head through the Bridge of Allan and turn up onto the Sheriffmuir (historic battle ground) and continue across the moors for about 10 miles. This road will now cross the A9, exit using the B8081 for Blackford (famous for its mineral water).
Take the A823 south through the glen of Gleneagles (the town, golf course and hotel are to the north). On the other side of the pass is Glendevon, a scenic valley and popular picnic spot. You will start to enjoy the scenic delights of the Ochil Hills now.
Turn right onto the A91 towards Dollar (visit Castle Campbell here). Take the B913, then right onto the B9140, and then left onto the B910 for the Kincardine Bridge. You will pass the Dunmore Pineapple on the way to the bridge. Turn right onto the A876 and cross the bridge.
Head back up the A805 passing through Airth to Stirling. Take the A84 road north back to Doune.
