It all began with the Doune Primary School Active Travel Plan (DPSATP). With over ten thousand pounds of funding from Sustrans and Tactrans  we purchased and installed a large cycle shelter and cycle racks for up to forty three bikes to encourage more cycling to and from Doune primary school and Doune nursery throughout the whole year.

There is to be a concert in the Rural Hall on the 8th May. This will be the first appearance of a new group of Peter Wesley's, the Doune Wind Sextet. The Doune Bassoon Quartet will also be on the same agenda.

KATHLEEN JAMIE, winner of the 2012 Costa Poetry prize, will be at the Rural Hall on 11th April for Doune Bookworms’ event “The Wide & Lonely Glen” – an evening of song & readings.

Following a successful well attended inaugural night for the Doune Film Club a new date has been set for its second screening and keen community members are to meet to plan how best to take the club forward.
