The intense gales that occurred in December of 2013 produced extremely strong gusts (locally up to 100mph), saturated soil compounded the power of the wind and as a result well rooted trees were snapped and overturned, punching holes into an area of mature conifer woodland (planted in 1948) that was retained along Stirling Road...

It may come as a surprise to some residents that Stirling Council has terminated the Doune Ponds management agreement with Moray Estates, the land owner. However the community council were given an indication of this and have been working hard to investigate if we can save Doune ponds with the help of the community.

The special consultation evening was hosted by Deanston Distillery and run by the website team ahead of the site being renovated over the coming months.
